Scope and Sequence for CCE Classes

We believe that growth in faith is a lifelong journey, undertaken in community and guided by the Spirit.  The goal of our CCE program is active learning that translates into active faith.

Faith First Legacy Editionby RCL Benziger uses a spiral learning method that teaches the same truths at every grade level and includes doctrine lessons based on the four pillars of the Catechism.

Faith First Legacy Edition curriculum is used in grades Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 6They cover three themes—Doctrine: Our Beliefs, Scripture: Our Stories, and the Liturgical Year: Our Celebrations. They develop religious literacy and integrate faith and life. Each chapter includes Faith Focus, Faith Vocabulary, profiles of Faith-Filled People, and explanations of Catholic traditions. A detachable page in each chapter offers a way to partner with parents.

Faith First Legacy, Junior High is a religious education program rooted in the Catechism and centered on the gospel message. This program is available for students in grades 6 ,7, and 8.  It is a flexible program for junior high. Individual Student Books are used interchangeably and have special Scripture study chapters woven throughout.

"Sealed with the Spirit: Confirmation High School" and "Confirming Faith for High School" are just two of the many resources that are used for Pre-Confirmation and Confirmation students (grades 9-10) in our parish. These resources connect Confirmation to other sacraments of initiation, and focuses on discipleship and what it means to be a Catholic. Topics include Christian identity, the meaning of discipleship, living the gospel, serving others, gifts and fruit of the Spirit and the Rite of Confirmation.

Our religious education program begins in September of each year.  Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Our goal is to reach 45 hours during the year which includes 30 hours spent in classroom catechetical instruction and additional formative activities, such as liturgical prayer, retreats and service that may take place outside of the instructional time.
